30 weeks

29 weeks and 2 days in this photo.  It literally looks like someone stuffed a soccer ball under my shirt. Week 29-30 was not too good to me.  Our whole family got this horrible cold, and I have coughed SO HARD that I have actually hurt one of my ribs.  I just hold my thumb over the offended spot whenever I have to cough.   Caleb has now had it for two weeks and the so-called doctor (I think […]

Epilepsy Update

Most of you already know that Caleb was diagnosed with epilepsy (a person who has had two or more seizures with unknown cause) a year ago. All but one of his seizures has been full-on convulsions in his sleep.  The one exception was an absence seizure, which he had a year and a half ago, in the swimming pool. He was standing there, and then his eyes crossed as he stared off into space, and he couldn’t hear or respond […]

I AM BACK!!!! I am beating pregnancy anemia!!

I am very proud to announce that the crash and gradual recovery of 2013 appears to have ended TODAY.  I am beating this pregnancy anemia. This morning I woke up feeling like a real person again.  I have my energy back, and it feels so good!  Plus, all the problems that felt like the sky falling for the past week seem so much smaller now. Even Caleb is finally better!  He went all night last night without a cough or […]

Put on Your Big Girl Panties and Deal With It

What parent doesn’t loathe whining? ugh.  I got an earful of whining this morning since Joshua had to go to school and Caleb (still recovering from monstrous a cold) didn’t.  Joshua whined from the time he got out of bed until the time he buckled his seatbelt.  I was patient from 6:40 until 7:30, at which point I snapped and yelled at him…. …..so I will not do the same to you and whine about all of my little complaints. I […]

When Your Head is Out of Sorts with Pregnancy Anemia Brain

My head is seriously out of sorts with pregnancy anemia lately. The Week of Fuzzy Brain    I have often heard people say that pregnancy is more difficult on the body as you get older, but I never experienced it until lately.  Joshua was my overall hardest pregnancy, to include excessive vomiting in the first trimester as well as shockingly bad sciatica pain in the third trimester.  Yet, that was my youngest pregnancy!    I was doing so great until […]

My Experience with Pregnancy Anemia: Sleepiest Week Ever

This week: Thursday night I came down with a head cold and fever (like my 4th cold this winter), but I powered through and we had a really good time at the Farm Park on Friday. By Saturday, I was so unusually exhausted and miserable, I just crashed.   I literally did not move from my chair until 11am.  Poor Alan had to take care of his regular responsibilities, while also helping me with mine.  As if he’s not stressed […]

My 32nd Birthday: 24 Weeks Pregnant with My 4th Son

Today’s Snow Day was pretty awesome, except that there was no snow to play in once the snowing stopped.  It snowed for about 18 hours straight, and yet it was too warm for accumulation past 11am.  This works out nicely though.  Everyone got to stay home, and yet Alan was able to safely run errands.  Plus tomorrow’s road conditions should be perfectly fine.  Happy birthday to me!   Ya’ll, today was thoroughly exhausting!  It seems like everyday is exhausting lately. […]
