Ventricular Tachycardia

Ventricular Tachycardia: Patient Story

I struggled with what to title this category on the blog. Is my arrhythmia considered a heart disease? No. I have a pounding heart, and the pounding is coming from the wrong place. In my case, the pounding is coming from the ventricles, so it is called Ventricular Tachycardia.

Ventricular tachycardia is a rare condition that they take very seriously because it can lead to ventricular fibrillation. It can kill you quickly. (But don’t worry. My heart is structurally doing just great, and my v-tach episodes have all been short, as in 6-13 beats. I’m good.)

I was only diagnosed with it in 2016. You can click on the links below to learn more of my story.

I regularly go to an electrophysiologist to monitor how my heart is doing, and I have a Linq monitor implanted in my chest.

Propanolol is my beta-blocker of choice, and it has made a world of difference for me with a variety of symptoms. Really I should write a blog post about how much Inderal (Propanolol) has changed my life! I take 40mg in the morning and 40 at night.

I’m including all of this information for my fellow arrhythmia sufferers. Feel free to send me any questions about my experience, but please know that I am not a health care professional.

The list below is a few of the articles I’ve written about my v-tach journey.
