Daniel meets John David
Today I’m uploading lots of videos of our children that will probably only be interesting to the grandparents. This one’s for you, Granddaddy, Nana, DaddyO, Nonna, Granddaddy and Grandma Cunningham!! : )
Dan loves babies.
Dan loves baseball.
John David was VERY sleepy after having his first bath at home. He did not enjoy the bath. For little ones with a cord, they cannot be submerged in bath water. They hate being cool, so it is really best to bathe them wearing their towel, but peeling off the towel on each portion you need to wash as you go and then covering them back up. I’d forgotten that, so J.D. endured his first bath naked and crying. Poor baby.
The swelling had gone down just enough today for me to return to my own underwear and my maternity yoga pants. : ) I <3 yoga pants! (to fully understand this caption, see yesterday's post: The Postpartum Phase…)
supporting our team in good times and bad.. : )
He managed to kick himself completely out of his swaddling blanket. Oh well. He looks a lot beefier in pictures than he looks in person. In person, he’s a cute little string bean.

See how I need a new camera? I can’t tell you how many pictures I have to delete b/c they are blurry.
Alan just bought a desk (seriously necessary) off Craig’s List today for only $100. It’s a roll top desk identical to the ones that both sets of our parents have. Super nice.
Do you think buying a better camera on Craig’s List is a good idea? Or do you think it would just mean it wasn’t good enough for someone, so we probably won’t be satisfied either? Thoughts? You know Alan is all about buying things second hand, and I’m actually really happy about that. Why pay $500 for something if you can find that same thing for $100? And there’s not a single thing wrong with that desk.
We are enjoying our week of resting at home. I had all sorts of ideas for things I could get done this week, while resting in my chair. So far I have accomplished very little of that. Reading makes me fall asleep, and I just haven’t had the energy to work on the boys’ baby books. I mostly just feed the baby, sleep, and eat. I’m sort of like Garfield.
Thank you so much to our friends who have visited, brought food, signed up with the Park Moms to bring food, etc.
We feel so welcome here.
Joshua has asked us a few times recently when we are moving again. We told him we’ll be here for a while yet, at least until he’s in the 3rd grade. Joshua said, “I want to stay here forever.” We feel the same way, Joshua. It is rare to stumble upon such a great community.
This verse aptly fits me right now, as I am relying so much on others during my c-section recovery:
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Amy, I know!! I keep telling him to wait a couple years b/c he has a willing victim with Daniel. Dan actually likes baseball. Joshua tries, but its just not as exciting to him as the trampoline and drawing. Caleb has also figured out that this is a big deal to Daddy, so hes been practicing his batting so he can play in the fall.
Oh my goodness - Alan is quizzing Joshua on baseball. That is hilarious. I'm sure I'll try to get Wesley interested in UA football in a similar way. Daniel appears as though he will enjoy answering such questions in the future! Amy
That last one was from me. I forget to sign them. How about a picture of the new desk? Nonna
I believe I would talk to Janet for recommendations and then buy a NEW camera! I would be afraid of buying someone's USED problems.
