The Baby!
We just love our 19 pound 4 month old. He is just a great big ball of kissable goodness. Unfortunately, our kissable bundle suddenly decided to stop sleeping through the night two weeks ago. He also caught a cold two weeks ago, a cold that isn’t getting any better. His nose is still runny, runny, runny. He’s been to the doc twice. They can’t do anything for him.
Yes, I got a big bulb sucker, and I use it regularly. He doesn’t even cry anymore when I do it.
…Isn’t it amazing that we can do so much, but we have no cure for the common cold?
Last night he only woke up once, and for two weeks he’s been waking up 2 times/night, starving. I do mean starving. I’ve tried the ol’ nurse him on one side and put him back to bed several times, but he always knows. It’s both sides, or no one sleeps!!!
….I’m thinking about introducing rice cereal. If it would help, that’d be great.
Dan!
His cold has been going on for two weeks as well. There’s a spot under his nose that’s just raw. Today they both developed runny diaper syndrome. Grrrrosss!!!!
I’m stuck here at the house because have you ever taken two babies with runny diapers out in public??? That just sounds like a dumb idea to me. I’ll pass.
Dan got in some Daddy cuddles this weekend.
J.D., 4 months
Daniel, 4 months
Most rolls ever!!
Daniel officially gets the award for being the chubbiest of our boys!! J.D. weighs as much, but he’s taller.
sweet J.D.
Today is all about diaper duty. trying to keep a positive attitude…..
J.D. has also outgrown his bouncy chair and toddler rocker. He still fits in them, but he hates them. He wants to be sitting, sitting, sitting. There’s a lot to see here, and he gets that. Of course he still needs to be assisted in his sitting, so I’m having a hard time finding a place to put him. He’s too chubby for a Bumbo. They should make an XL baby size of those!! I guess I’ll just be constructing chairs out of pillows for him for a while.
Do you remember when I was a Mary Kay lady? Yep, I tried many hats on before settling into my stay-home-mommy role. One thing Mary Kay taught was to have a “6 Most Important Things To Do” list for each day, and to make it the night before.
I have fully gone back to this. I make my top 6 in a box, and then I write all the rest (about 20-30 things) down below it. Some of the other stuff just doesn’t get done, but at least the 6 most important (to me) does.
Here’s today’s top 6:
1. Call dentist office and reschedule. Check!
2. Review Sparks verses with boys.
3. LAUNDRY–poop cycles!!
4. Plan/cook supper
5. Take boys to Sparks.
6. Pick up prescriptions–see if I can get Alan to do that for me….
We are still just relying on God’s strength around here. I have been doing a whole “lotta” praying!
“We pray that you will be strengthened from God’s boundless resources, so that you will find yourselves able to pass through any experience and endure it with joy.” Colossians 1:11
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
You know what? Even though it feels a bit out of control at times, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. These babies are my life, and I love it.
Ha! Amy, I know you can relate to the XL Bumbo idea!!!
Typo!!! I mean LIVED her message!!!
6 things…love it, gotta try it
XL bumbo…love it, would totally buy it
Amy
Thanks, Di!
Yes! I love Mother Teresa because she spoke with the Wisdom of God and truly loved her message.
Such a cutie! What a great idea – 6 Main things to accomplish. My list is always WAY too long.
Hope JD is feeling better!

I saw this quote on the side of the web page view. (Mother Teresa is always there with a quote). I thought it fit right in with your blog today. ~Daddy-O
