One of my other blog friends pointed that out too, and I have definitely noticed the seals are missing those. I can’t for the life of me remember what the sea lion ears look like. I need to take more notice of that.

However, a very important difference, and one which is quite noticeable as well, is that sea lions have ear flaps whereas seals do not. We have quite a colony of seals and sea lions in La Jolla. They are extraordinarily fun to watch during pupping season.
