Oh becoming preteen wise, my oldest just turned 13! It is such a process, best to prepare early 🙂

I love the points you outlined from the book. It is true that time helps a child feel loved and that the parents relationship helps affects all members in the family.

I am just familiarizing myself with your blog and am starting with this post. I am always happy to see parents who are studying the subject of proper parenting. I have written about this extensively and feel that our number one responsibility, once we decide to have children, is to become informed about what is best for them, from understanding child development. I will look forward to your ideas with interest. Raising even one child to become a healthy happy adult is a formidable challenge, but the best one we can undertake, after that of getting ourselves in hand, with God’s help and inspiration.

My husband and I went through a terrific course called Winning the Heart of Your Teen. I’m pretty sure it was done by the Ezzos. It was so amazing- our son and his wife are our friends. We were able to aim for friendship instead of authority. Sounds similar to what you’re doing. It’s going to pay off!
