Me too, Janet, with the tears. That first one was especially hard and we’d never done it before. Turns out that 2nd one was a more deadly year. Thankfully, we were unaware of that.

Subsequent deployments were also scary, but the first one was really hard. We’re so proud of Alan and his willingness to serve. We also appreciate the sacrifice the families make when their husbands, sons and dads go to war.
