It is like people have become too cynical and less sentimental. New generation is growing up hooked on cerebral thrillers rather than on light decent comedies. I don’t think the revival will ever happen because we see the end of the beautiful story – it is now not live, feeling-good-about-life “You’ve Got Mail”, but tragic soul-searching nostalgic and robotic “Her”, Even in “La, La Land”, there is no happy ending anymore.

I will have to check this one out. Thanks ! I don’t in general love sad movies, but Steel Magnolias is one of my favorites. It’s hilariously funny too though. I feel sure you have to have seen it so I’m curious if you liked it. Few years ago I introduced my daughter to all my old favorites, including several of the ones you mentioned. Good times ❤️
