I didn’t know the military was so understanding with bad news. I would be horrible at telling my Mother-Inlaw her son has passed. Just thinking about it makes my hair stand on end. sometimes my father talks about the friends he lost in the war. It’s so sad because most of them were just 18. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Thanks so much for writing this series. You capture the overwhelming emotions of waiting to hear from your loved one after a tragedy on the other side of the world. I remember saying “Thank you God it wasn’t Alan”. But that was quickly followed by feelings of intense sadness that other families are going through something I can’t even imagine.

I completely understand them waiting in order to notify families, but for those waiting….how incredibly difficult.
