How do we know the Bible is reliable? Why do you believe it?

Is the Bible real?

If someone asked you why you believe the Bible, would you know what to tell them?? How do you know the Bible is reliable? Why do you believe it? This is important, y’all. Faith is paramount, but people need some reasons behind that faith. These days most people are not educated about the Bible. I’m going to do the best I can to re-tell the excellent illustration that Pastor Craig Bowers used to show just how reliable the Bible is. Jar […]

Week 3 of The Hot Mess Blog Hop

I sort of felt like my whole life embodied “hot mess” this week. Several things happened. I allowed so many activities to enter my life that I neglected one of THE most important, like helping my dyslexic-ish son with his spelling words. I put my foot in my mouth without even realizing it (but then, isn’t that always how it goes???). Oh, and my chin broke out like a teenager’s. But hey! I’m hoping that acne on my chin is […]

Inauguration Day Feelings and Thoughts

Were all of you glued to the Inauguration Day coverage, as I was? I couldn’t help it. I just had to watch. I feel optimistic. I do. I’m interested to see what happens. The Obamacare thing makes me a little nervous. I hope they make sure they have all the people with a health care plan that is dependent on the changes Obama made are taken care of. The group with pre-existing conditions and low-income are a fragile group. It […]

How I Used Crowdfire to Gain 50 New, Legit Followers/Month

Oh, I remember the simpler times back when social media was just a way to catch up with old friends. I poured over old photos and baby stories and shook my head at the crazies. If you are interested in reaching more people via social media for your blog or business, be sure to check out this article that I wrote […]

The Hot Mess Blog Hop

This week I was reminded of something. I am a big, giant failure. I am a hot mess. Now I know. That’s negative self-talk, and we shouldn’t do that. Yeah. I get it. Thinking positively is how you recover from the things that do happen as a result of when we mess up big time, or when someone else messes up and we have to deal with it. In my case, it was me that messed up. I got a […]

Thoughts on My Last Baby’s First Day of Preschool

Thought from my last baby's first day of preschool

Maybe it’s because I haven’t had a solid night’s sleep in a week. Maybe it’s because he’s my fourth son, my last baby. I don’t know, but today I dropped JD off at his first day at preschool, and I cried all the way home. He’s three and a half, and he’s ready. We knew he was ready. He knew he was ready. His brothers are even excited for him. And he handled it like a champ. He proudly put […]

REAL life starts again tomorrow. Oh, yes, the kids are going back to school!

We just finished the longest Christmas vacation ever. 3 weeks!!! Full weeks!! It was a blast.  It was genuinely fun because we didn’t spend the whole 3 weeks in any one place. We went south, then we went north, then we went home, then we went back south, then back home. We had a good time with it! And we were terrible. Truly terrible. We let the kids stay up as late as 10 some nights. I know. The shame! […]
