There ARE angels among us, and most of them are just people.

Why does grocery shopping always turn into the most interesting day of the week?  It sounds so simple, and it is so simple–when I get to go alone.   This week I was bound and determined to do the good ol’ fashioned grocery trip with baby + a toddler thing.  Daniel loves stores, and JD is such a sweet baby, so no problem right? heh-heh  It all started when I got JD’s shots the day before, and I let […]

Not the puddle!!!….Eh, go ahead….

Today it was finally warm.  Really, really warm!  I was so excited.   I promptly rolled out our amazing double jogger and we headed out for a good little 1 mile walk. I thought, “Hey, this stroller is so amazing it can do ANYTHING!”  It can– sort of– it plowed right over snow hills easily….except I might have been a little over eager b/c I flattened a tire.  (Alan, will you please fix that for me??  Thank you!)  Check out […]

Bedtime Battles with Four Children

By 8:45pm every night, I am mentally exhausted.  Do you know what it is that exhausts me so?   Putting the kids to bed! Yes, we have four boys, but when it comes to bed time in this house we have two issues, one wild card, and one dependable sweetheart. Can you guess which is which? The sweetheart is John David.  Get him good and cozy, pop a pacifier in his mouth, and he is on his way to sleep. […]

My Sloshy Walk Through a Winter Wonderland

Happy Snow Day!!!   Does anyone else get a bad case of the “blahs” on snow days???  It looks all glamorous and fun in the photos, but after a little while I get the need to get OUT of the house.  I just have this constant desire to be left alone.   Isn’t that kind of hilarious?  I want to be left alone, but I have a baby, a toddler, two boys, and a talkative husband.  Actually, they all like […]

Simple & Delicious Loaded Baked Potato Soup Recipe

Today I thought I’d share my favorite soup with everyone:  Loaded Baked Potato Soup.   This stuff is GOOD.  (I’m also holding Daniel as I type this, while he does a dinosaur puzzle on his Nabi.) Plus, I am on hold with the airline trying to change a flight. I figure I’ll be on hold for a while.  Somehow I doubt I’m the only person scrambling to change travel plans this week!!! Loaded Baked Potato Soup Prep:  30minutes- 2 hours, […]

The Latest Phase: The Sitting in the Tree Song!

Yesterday I went to Target.  I was supposed to buy Alan an A&W Root Beer while there, but I forgot….until I got to the check-out line.  By that point, the A&W’s were all the way at the back of the store, and it was starting to snow outside.  Oops.  So I bought Alan a 20 ounce Dr. Pepper, and figured all was not lost. But now it’s 4:30 pm, and I’m still beat from taking all four kids to the […]

Dan’s version of “Let it Go”

Welcome!!!! I’m almost finished converting to WordPress for blog hosting and the new name!!! That’s really the whole reason I’m doing all of this was to get my own name and drop the whole “blogspot.com” bit.  I definitely like this better! I will have the pages at the top all finished up soon. Meanwhile, I want to say THANK YOU for following me from the old web address to the new one.  Pretty please, pause a moment and leave yourself […]

How I Got an Attitude Adjustment When My Perspective was Failing

serious attitude adjustment

Most of this week I walked around with a seriously bad attitude. First of all, when I wake up in the morning, my brain literally hurts.  I think I should really be going to bed around 9pm, not 10:30pm.  I’ll spare you the whining about why I need so much sleep!   I basically have been “waking up on the wrong side of the bed” and staying disgruntled and feeling sorry for myself all day long.   Until Wednesday […]

The Productive Stay-at-Home Mom

This week in review: As you can see through this “Dan cam” image, Daniel almost always insists on sleeping in his floor.  ???Why???  I don’t know.  I figure he likes to A.)  be closer to his toys and also B.) have a better view of people walking by in the hallway. That’s right.  He now also likes his door open. He is officially our first child to insist on sleeping in the floor.      Dan, reading one of those […]

The Future of The “Liter” Side of Life

Isn’t that cute?  Alan made this for me on Power Point. A strange new day has arrived.  After pouring countless hours into The “Liter” Side of Life, I have decided that it’s time to change my blog name.   I have been blogging publicly for only a year, and I’m really starting to learn how to build the site and build readership.  I’m ready to take it to the next level, so I need to make this sort of BIG […]
